No need to send me sweet notes and flowers. It's not me.
It is Dr. Seuss!
My kids are pretty excited about this because it means they get to celebrate all week long at school this week and next. They wear fun hats, they eat treats and read lots and lots of their favorite books. They even get to have mom to join in the fun and read to their class. It's quite a jolly time for the Joneses.
Peyton's teacher said he could bring in as many Dr. Suess books as he wanted. Guess how many he picked?
I am excited that he is excited, however, not so excited at the thought of losing any of our favorite reads. Time to get labeling!
I whipped up some book plate labels so we could just write in our names and pop them inside the cover of our books. I created them so they weren't age specific, I would totally rock these labels in my own personal books, wouldn't you?
Well, now you can!

Who else is celebrating a birthday this week?
You are SO good at making things pretty! Can't wait until you have the PDF format all worked out because I'm 100% using these on my books! And I have like 200 of them.
ReplyDeleteI've been looking forever for something cute and simple to label my books, so THANK YOU, for making these!
You're a genius!
AMAZING! simply loving it... thanks a bunch dear!
ReplyDeleteMy daughter is celebrating a birthday next week! She will be 4 and it will be a "Purplicious" Birthday!! She loves all things purple!
ReplyDeleteThese are adorable! Would be so cute in a book given as a gift. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for the PDF either! I see lots of familiar Dr. Seuss books. ;) My son's fave is the Oh Say Can You Say Dinosaur and the space one. There is also a map one that we have that he likes, as well as the old classics. Last spring at the MN Zoo, they had a bunch of the Dr. Seuss characters (bronze figurines) scattered around. http://momma-paparazzi.blogspot.com/2012/02/dr-seuss.html
ReplyDeleteIt's always a great idea. Thanks,
ReplyDeleteNina von Ordnungsliebe
These are so cute!
ReplyDeletelooking forward to the PDFs, I just got my little one all the Eric Carle books and was looking for bookplates - thank you!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the kid friendly book plate labels! Now we won't have to use address labels anymore! :)
ReplyDeleteMy kids both celebrated Dr. Suess' birthday week in school, too! Here's a link to a post I just did the day my youngest got to dress as his favorite character... The Lorax! Enjoy!

I am a newer follower to your blog and am loving all of your organization ideas. What a dreamy blog and perfect past time for my type A self. ;-) Thanks for sharing the book labels. I'm sure my boys will be needing to use these in a couple of their books soon. Wonder if they will work on my daughter's clothes that she is always borrowing out... (j/k)
ReplyDeleteThanks! Kelly
Adorable, thanks for these! My little guy turns 2 in May and the party theme is BOOKS. I will print up some book labels to give as party favors. :)

ReplyDeleteQuick Question- What software do you use to make the labels? I know you design tons of cool stuff (I've stalked your Etsy a bit), but I wondered what program you use to make them!
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the great organizing ideas!
I typically use Microsoft Excel and have recently been trying out Microsoft Publisher.

So cute! Thanks! I remember enjoying Dr. Suess' birthday with my kid- my middle child's first book that he read independently was "Green Eggs & Ham". Nice memory.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun week at school. We never celebrated Dr. Suess' Birthday :-( Those book labels are fantastic. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for sharing, Jen!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the adorable bookplates. Would love to see photos with funny hats! Hope you enjoy reading to the class :)

ReplyDeleteThese are awesome and so pretty! Thank you for the freebie!
ReplyDeleteAre these 2x4 labels? Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI love, love, LOVE these labels! I think I see 'Avery 8163' on the printouts. Is that the size/style you used?
ReplyDeleteThese are adorable. I love all your bright and colorful printables. Thank you for offering these to us for free.
ReplyDeleteWe just got done playing at a Dr. Suess birthday party. My mom's school threw a party, and my son loved it! The principal even dressed up as the Cat in the Hat. I am loving the labels! Thank you so much! As a teacher my mom is always loaning out her books, and sometimes not getting them back. It would take forever, but maybe I can label her books for her now :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing! Your so awesome! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea! Will use! :) My birthday is today! It has always been odd having my birthday on the 29th, but... as I get older, I am getting used to it.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday Dr. Suess!
Happy Birthday Keri!!! <3 I hope it is full of smiles!
Deletexoxo!
Jen
thank you for the PDF! I'm off to get my son some lovely bookplates ;D
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Jen! These are darling!!
ReplyDeleteThanks! These are great. BTW, I celebrated my birthday this week, too!
ReplyDeleteI am SO in love with your new chevron pattern!
ReplyDeleteHi Jenn!!
ReplyDeleteWhat was the font you used? I tried to download the publisher version but I don't have the font! I wanted to use type in the name. I have an aversion with my handwriting.
Very beautifully designed!
Oooh, great question! It's called "ultra". You can find it here: http://www.fontsquirrel.com/fonts/ultra
Deletexoxo,
Jen
Thank you!!!
DeleteThese are TOO CUTE! My daughter also took a huge stack of Dr. Suess books to school. The funny thing is her name is Payton Jones as well!
ReplyDeleteI bought a 12 pack in assorted colors of the Sharpie Ultra Fine Tip pens. I keep them in a cup on the top shelf of the cabinet where I have my calendar posted. This way they are always accessible to update the calendar and out of reach for my son who would then also want them as his very own. Doesn't matter how many markers they have, they always want what mom has. :)
ReplyDeleteThese are great! What software do you use to make your things so pretty?
ReplyDeleteThank you! I use Microsoft Word, Excel and Publisher. Depends on the printable. :)
