I also have 1 file for Sunday school & 1 w/a list of awards & certificates, so I can find easily.
On the front I listed the yr, teachers name & 3 big things that happened that yr.
I keep the papers for the year & a week after schools out we have a scheduled pajama day & go through the past yr. I jot down things they say about the past year, we @ pick out a few pieces to save. Have ice cream for lunch & the rest get burned in a outside firepit that night celebrating the completion of that school yr.
In the files I keep their report cards, awards, 1 writing paper, 1 art work & 1 project.resourcefulsilhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01467760098454082418noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8864666002840991252.post-27015897324681085612018-03-10T15:27:21.400-06:002018-03-10T15:27:21.400-06:00I'm realizing the things that mean anything to...I'm realizing the things that mean anything to me as an adult would be the things I seen in the house as I grew up. So yeah this is a great idea. I know a lot of people are scanning and putting things in the computer but can your kids look through and enjoy what they did?? My mom had stuff she was saving and I didn't get to see it. Doesn't make since to me. Who's going to have to take it when they pass... they can't take it with them.. share what is important with your kids... before it is to late... They are the ones that have 3 sides and open up to form a U. They work great to fit large pices the kids bring home. During the year I have a hall way that they get to hung up all of the fun papers/art that they have made which saves my house from having them on all the walls. Then at the end of the year take them down put them in the presentation boards fold the 2 sides together and label what year and the kiddos name and put them up hope this helps.DeAnna Mhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08142414677390777327noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8864666002840991252.post-6283692528181027802017-10-05T16:58:11.496-05:002017-10-05T16:58:11.496-05:00I am using this idea by the way for my special tre...I am using this idea by the way for my special treasures!!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08011607947865029961noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8864666002840991252.post-46702269764166966762017-10-05T16:55:37.455-05:002017-10-05T16:55:37.455-05:00When my son was just starting Kindergarten a gradu...When my son was just starting Kindergarten a graduating senior was working in his after school program. Each kid has a two page spread with info about what they've been up to that year and includes their grade in school and teacher name. The work is interspersed through the book, collated to when it was completed. The verbalized plan is that the grandparents will give up their books when the kids grow up and want their own copy.Takolaurahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00894606499352856183noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8864666002840991252.post-73140670552840571462017-09-08T08:49:12.161-05:002017-09-08T08:49:12.161-05:00I love this idea but for some reason cannot downlo...I love this idea but for some reason cannot download any of the printables. :-( Can someone help? For large artwork, I get inexpensive poster frames and hang their art on the walls (basement, their rooms). For their school work, I have a plexiglass magazine holder and a matching manilla folder for each child (different color for each child). As they get to mid to upper elementary school, the papers multiply!! The manilla folder is for any papers we definitely want to keep (great writing assignment, art project, report cards) and the everyday papers go into the magazine holder. At the end of the year, we go through all the magazine holder papers (we already know we want to keep the manilla folder papers) and get rid of as much as possible. Then I have a file bin similar to the above and move all the manilla folder papers and the additional keepers to the grade appropriate hanging file folder. Now the magazine holder and manilla folder are empty and ready for the next school year!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8864666002840991252.post-60707303055315875682015-04-18T21:13:27.417-05:002015-04-18T21:13:27.417-05:00Hi!
