Your jewelry holders are beautiful and unique, you did a very lovely job with them. I am sorry to hear that they fell, I hope that they are salvageable? How did you hang them? Let me know if you are looking for ideas to ensure they don't take a tumble again. And thank you so much for sharing your story with me! :)IHeart Organizinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05084013302005288836noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8864666002840991252.post-45207369053100939242016-01-21T11:20:58.269-06:002016-01-21T11:20:58.269-06:00Hi Jen! Despite this post being several years old, I attempted it this weekend! Key word: attempted.

So, I found two old shutters at a thrift store, picked up some discount fabric and upholstery pins, re-purposed some cork, grabbed my glue gun and went to town!

Here's the finished product:
http://imgur.com/gallery/o0J7yCi/new

Looks pretty decent, no?

Well, all was well until 3 this morning. As I was sleeping, all of a sudden I heard the loudest, most drawn-out, most terrifying crash I've ever heard. The orgnaizer on the right came crashing down in a blaze of glory, poor thing.

So, to say the least, I'm not quite on your level yet, Jen, but I'm going to keep on keepin' on! Thanks for all of your inspirational projects and for your can-do attitude!agpughhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00407306382339320088noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8864666002840991252.post-52108823796846003132014-04-29T14:25:56.984-05:002014-04-29T14:25:56.984-05:00Does this work for stud earing too (for a little g...Does this work for stud earing too (for a little girls room)Seetuhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08975153969820395137noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8864666002840991252.post-52170915968293495782013-11-18T05:33:38.772-06:002013-11-18T05:33:38.772-06:00I used the clips on the back of the frame that typ...I used the clips on the back of the frame that typically hold the glass and back in place. (One in each area where I frequently take earrings, etc. off... one near the door, one near the bed, one in the medicine cabinet, one in my closet.) This system worked great for me for years, but I was looking for something that didn't require me pouring out a bowl of jewelry, looking for matching earrings. I usually wear dangling earrings, so my new system is as follows. I bought clear Mini Command Hooks (purchased in bulk on Amazon) and stuck them in my medicine cabinet door, with each row alternated (like a checkers board), so that the earrings can dangle without disrupting the next row. I then labeled each row ("wood", "silver", "gold", "glass", etc.) to make it even easier to find specific earrings quickly. One medicine cabinet door can hold 50+ pairs of earrings... And I'm used totally un-tapped space! I can access oodles of earrings in an instant & hide them just by shutting the door! I did the same thing on the interior of my coat closet door near our front door for an easy last-minute earring grab... and on the interior of the door of my bedside table for those tired moments when I just don't want to get out of bed. Because the hooks are clear, the look is sleek and uncluttered. Advice for ladies trying this at home - instead of using corkboard underneath, I just used foamboard. It comes in many colors, (Although I covered mine in fabric) and push pins go in really nicely. It also was cheaper and sturdier than the corkboard I found. (I had a hard time finding thick corkboard, all the corkboard I found was very thin - optimal for lining a drawer, etc. but not perfect for this project!) I LOVE the way mine turned out. You can really do this with any size frame, I used a poster frame and it has more space to hang the GAZILLIONS of necklaces I own. Our set up allowed us to add a larger bedroom with a large dressing/closet area that we couldn't have in the main level. It's working pretty great for us, but it is something that took a little getting used to for me. Our kids are five and up, so very self sufficient in the night, but we still use nightlights throughout our home and do frequent "safety" walk throughs and chats with the kids. We also have an alarm system to help notify us if windows are opened, etc... And because we are located directly below their rooms, we can hear every move they make above. xoxo!IHeart Organizinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05084013302005288836noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8864666002840991252.post-81546859034542252532012-04-25T01:54:48.067-05:002012-04-25T01:54:48.067-05:00I use frames for mine as well, but in a slightly d...I use frames for mine as well, but in a slightly different way, my frames have hooks in them.
