Fab Freebie: Keep your Eyes on the Size

I had all sorts of names picked out for this post, even ones like "Size Matters".  Nothing came across as clean as I try to keep the blog {most times}...

How often are you out and about and see the prettiest pair of ballet flats for your little lady?  Or the perfect pants for guy in your life?  Whether that person that you spotted the great wardrobe piece for is your daughter, spouse, nephew or best friend, do you remember their size?  In shoes?  Shirts?  Pants?  How about their favorite colors and designers?

Not always an easy thing to do.  Especially with three little boys.  I can usually remember their shirt/pant sizes, however, ask me their shoe sizes and I would be way off.

Wouldn't it be nice to have a little card with those details listed on it, so you are never left wondering again?  Something you could laminate and carry with you in your purse?  Or tuck in a pocket of your planner?  Or add as a page in your household binder?

I thought so too!

You can probably even adjust your printer settings to shrink them down a bit and use them in your wallet.  And maybe toss the most recent date after the size just so you know if you are current.  Whatever is clever my friends!  It will be wonderful never having to make that panic phone call home for sizes and details again!

Speaking of printables and household binders, as some of you may have noticed the forms in my Etsy shop are selling out like hotcakes {pinching myself, blushing big and grinning ear to ear}.  Because they are all custom and personalized, I can only process and re-list so many at a time, and I am also in the process of re-designing the binder/pages as well, so I greatly appreciate your understanding and support through the transition process.

Enjoy and happy Monday!

  1. I love the idea. I try to put all this info on my phone. I use drop box and have a lot of pages with things like measurements of walls for furniture, books in series we have/need, my favorite page has all of my Fiesta Ware colors and what I have in each color. These would be another cute page. It is very helpful when out shopping.

  6. Thanks for the printable! It is adorable! I'm going to print it out & keep it in my wallet like you suggested for those times when I can't remember the hubby's pant size or the kids shoes sizes! Thanks for sharing!

  8. Great idea! I need one of these for my husband's dress shirts! For my kids' shoes, I trace out the bottom of their foot every once in a while and keep it in my purse. That way, no matter the brand, I can make sure it's the right size!

  9. Awesome idea! My little guy grows so fast I can hardly keep track of his pants size let alone those huge feet! Thanks!

  10. That is fantastic, especially since I have three boys that share a room and one large dresser, so anyone other than myself cannot seem to get their clothes put away in the right drawers. This will be handy to have on their dresser as well, to help out the Hubs and the Grandmas!

  16. Fabulous. I remember having a middle school teacher recommend this to us (esp the guys) saying he kept his wife's sizes down to her ring size in case he saw a potential gift for her while out and about. Great idea!

  22. You need to make this into an app for the iPhone! I would love that! I never remember who is what size... yes we have three boys, the hubs and the father in law in the home! This is awesome!
BTW went to the Container Store here in Charlotte for the first time today and my three boys were begging me not to go in... when we left I had to pull them out because they were so in love with the store! Raising future organized men!!! Totally thought of you:)

  23. Hi Jen,

Could you tell me what program you use to create all of your amazing printables? I'd love to design some similar printables for my home.

    Thank you,

  25. Thank you for sharing these, they are great and I love the idea I am always calling my husband to check on the kids shoe size or clothe or ask him what size he is again. So these are going to be perfect for me.

  26. Good idea to keep this type of info handy - but I think putting it in your phone as a note would be simpler/clutter free in your wallet don't you think?

    1. Anyone can take this idea and run with it to make it work for them! :) I hope to someday turn it into an iphone app to combine the best of both worlds, lol!

  29. Thank you so much. We have a big family and I seem to always be mixing up the children's sizes. I printed these off and will be filling in the information right away and keeping them in my purse. So smart!

  31. These are super cute! So funny I was just thinking about making something similar months ago but haven't gotten to it! Great minds think alike!

I do have a question, I have some cute printables but how do you put them on your blog so others can download?

    1. Hi Lisa!

Thanks so much! I pay a small monthly fee to host all of my printables on Box.net. They have been so reliable and I haven't had anyone let me know that they weren't able to download something, so it has been worth it to pay the hosting fee.

      xo!
