  1. Jen you just made my day! Which is already great anyways, being off of work and having just shared the news that we are expecting our first baby with all of my family yesterday. The Silhouette is at the top of my Christmas list and this is an absolutely fantastic promo! I have sent it along to my gift buyers (parents and husband) so hopefully that works out :) Thank you again and Happy Holidays!

  2. I'm new to the Silhouette. Whats the main difference between the portrait and the cameo? Any major things to know before buying one? I want to make sure I get the right one.

    1. Hi Molly!

They are both really great! The main difference is that the CAMEO is wider than the Portrait. You can find a comparison chart here: http://www.silhouetteamerica.com/selectASilhouette.aspx

      Hope that helps!

    2. Hi Jen & Molly,

I had the exact same question and now also looked at the comparison chart. The big difference is the size on one hand and the SD slot on the other side.

So the question I have is how often did you really use the SD slot Jen? Do you use it for other templates? Do you own both silhouettes now? Which one do you recommend? I assume the Cameo would be useful if printing a lot of labeling for bigger items (like laundry bins, etc.).

I really have a hard time deciding which one to get. Molly, did you decide on one yet?

      Thanks for your reply.

    3. Hi Sue,

I have used both machines and again, I like them both for difference reasons. The CAMEO is the one that will always be able to handle larger projects, yet the Portrait is smaller and more portable and simple. I personally have not used the SD card slot.

It really depends on the types of products you are looking to create with your cutting tool, and how large you would like your items/cuts to be.

      xo!

  3. Hi All
Did I read the silouette email correctly? Is the black Friday sale extended to Monday for the machines as well ?

  4. Jen, I am super excited to get the Cameo for Christmas! Thanks for promo info! I was wondering though and of course it ultimately depends on the projects, but what do you recommend for must have extras to begin? Thanks so much!!

    1. I don't use too many extras, but the few items I find myself reaching for frequently are the Hook tool, the Scraper and the Spatula.

      xoxo!
