IHeart: A Silhouette Promotion & GIVEAWAY!

It is Silhouette time my friends!

I have been a long time user of the craft machine and use it all over our home to label, label, label.  I also use it for creating cards and fun crafts with the kiddos.  Yeah, I like it a lot.

Earlier today I shared how I organize our pet supplies, and no surprise, Silhouette labels made a debut.

Silhouette has released all sorts of really fun materials and products for label maker fanatics like myself.  Of course, I am sure there are other uses for their materials as well, but labels are my jam.

To create the label shown above on our pet grooming caddy, along with the label for our puppy treat jar, I used the print and cut feature on my Silhouette.  I started out by designing the labels with Silhouette Studio and printed them with my home printer onto both the Silver Foil and Clear Labeling sheets.

Then, I cut the label out of with my Silhouette machine {following the print and cut directions on the back of the product packages}.

I also used Gold Foil sheets and Vinyl to create the label on the larger treat jar.

For those looking to try out all sorts of fun products, including the silver and gold foil and clear label sheets, Silhouette has a great October promotion.

  11. Hi Jen! Thanks so much for sharing this! What pens do you use to write with the silhouette? Do you use their line of pens or another because I believe they have a pen holder that can hold other types of pens/markers? Thanks again

    1. Silhouette does have sketch pens for their machine which I have used and love in the past, however, for this project, I actually designed the label on the Silhouette but just printed it directly to my home printer first. Once my printer printed it, I stuck it through the Silhouette to cut it.

    1. Hi Nicole!

I have and use both. Love them both for different reasons, but find myself using my Cameo a bit more since it can accommodate larger or standard sized products. The smaller one is great if I ever want to tote it around for any reason. You can find a side by side comparison of the two here: http://www.silhouetteamerica.com/select-a-silhouette

      xo!

  18. Hi! I have never been crafty or very organized, but am trying to be both! I'm a mom of 4 - a recently combined family (my BF had 2 boys, I had 1 boy and we just had a baby boy!). Being organized is a MUST now! I'm loving your blog and your great ideas. I'd also LOVE to get a silhouette. do you think it's better to go straight to the cameo or try things out slowing with the smaller version?

  21. Hi Jen, your labels are beautiful and I am drooling at the chance to win one. I was wondering if you could tell me what kind of printer you use? My printer does not print as nicely. I think I need to upgrade! Thank you for the chance at a Silhouette! Best prize ever!

    1. Hi Ceci!
I have an HP LaserJet CP1525nw color and so far I love it! Prior to having a laserjet printer, I had a HP Photosmart printer which was great for projects around the house. Depending on your price point, I’ve found that most HP photosmart printers are excellent for high quality printing.
      xo!

    2. I am kind of curious of the foil sheets? Doesn't really say on the package, but does the laserjet really print on the foil and the clear sticker paper? I thought you needed inkjet for that? :)

    3. Hello!

I printed onto the foil with my laserjet with no issues, but maybe check out the Silhouette website or contact them directly to be sure prior to ordering?

      xoxo!

  26. I'm having trouble printing labels using the clear sticker paper. I want the text to be white, the label to be clear. The registration marks appear to print but not the white text. Do you have any advice??

    ReplyDelete

    1. Hi Andrea! I am not sure if all printers can print white ink? It may depend on the printer you are using.
      Best of luck!
