21 March Challenge: Project "Household Binder" {Auto Log}

All free printables mentioned within the post are now expired and available for sale!  Please check out my Etsy Shop for a large selection of personalized printables to fit all of your household organizing needs!

  Thank you!

So we have been plucking away at a Home Management Binder this month on the blog!  And so far we have found a binder, added tabs, chosen categories and created a cover page!

Today, let's add an Auto Log to our binders!

The idea to keep track of auto maintenance actually came from a brilliant reader, as you may have noticed it wasn't on my original list for my household binder.  Boy you guys are so smart!  You made my list grow for the better!  And the Auto Log was a perfect place to get started when creating my next FREE printable for your binders!

** Remember, these free printables will only be free for this month, so snag them while you can! **

I decided to use a clear page protector to hold this template, since it will only need updating upon each maintenance check.  I printed one for each of our vehicles, to keep track separately!

This log will be wonderful in remembering what was done and when on our vehicles, since they truly can act as an extension of the home!

The template should be pretty user friendly!  There are a series of pre-filled maintenance items that can just be checked as completed on the vehicle, and a space to add additional comments if necessary!

We will most likely use the pouch in the divider, or three hole punch, to place vehicle maintenance stubs/receipts as well.  Not only will this help us keep track, but it will also be very nice for any other owners of the car in the future, if we were ever to want to sell...

Stay tuned for more templates all week!  I am still showing much ooey gooey love for this month's project!

Any other ideas for keeping auto's in check?  Who's already been using a log that has come in handy once or twice?  Thoughts?

I decided a little challenge would be fun! This month we are creating a Home Management Binder!  Wanna Join in?  Take photos and blog about your awesomeness as you go!  I am hoping to do a giant, "We did it!" celebratory post where we can all link up our binder creating success stories at the end of the month!

  3. Love it!!! Just want I was looking for too. I love the things you put together to organize all of us. I have the binder, I have started to print out forms & even made some of my own already for our house needs. Can't wait to put it all together. It's going to be a great thing to have in the house for both me & my hubby to use.

  8. I am loving your blog!! I need help with stay on track with the things I "start" to organize! I had started a binder for keeping track of rebates, magazine/newspaper subscriptions, etc. I had a tab for Auto Maintenance with nothing to put in it yet! So Thank You for the Log. I spent hours and hours trying to come up with a log to track my rebates and it is not pretty!! Your monthly projects give me a time line to follow to keep me from procrastinating.
I wanted to share a free web site that I recently started using. I heard about it from the HLN show "Clark Howard" www.driverside.com I think it works well to remind you of when maintenance is due and tells you about any recalls that you may not have known about. I doesn't however give you a colorful log to keep track of what maintenance we actually have done and when. :)
Thank you again for all the help and inspiration!!

  10. Thank you for the freebie! This is something I've never had in my binder, only in a book of index cards in my glove compartment...this looks much nicer!

Hi Jen, love your site! Now you may have this already but I couldn't see it. A page set up with all the yearly birthdays/anniversary's would be good to have & a selection of cards could be popped into the sleeve behind.

Of course you could have another folder just for this purpose with 12 separate sleeves & a cover page on each showing the occasion & then just pop the cards behind. I actually do this at the beginning of every year as I make my own cards (& scrapbook) makes life SO much easier. A nice little book of stamps as well as pages with names & addresses at the back work well too.

    Keep up the good work!
