554 IHeart: Chalkboard Labels and a GIVEAWAY!

A reader of mine runs the most adorable Etsy shop, Bugaboo Gifts, in which she offers something that she knew I would adore.  Chalkboard labels!

Yes Please!

Kelly is first and foremost, the mom to 4 little kiddos and wife to her hubs of over 11 years.  She has always enjoyed crafting, and has combined it with home DIY to make their homes {they move a lot} feel more like “them.”  She also runs a new blog called “I Really Should be Sleeping”  where she posts all of her projects and painted furniture {another passion of hers!}

She popped over a couple of chalkboard labels for me to play with.  I was in LOVE.  I can't express how much more I adore these labels than actual chalkboard paint.  Much much better.  They are so smooth, you can reuse them and move them and my chalk markers actually wipe off of them spick and span clean.  Delightful.

So where did I use the new labels?

I had some movie cases that really needed to be labeled on the front, so we could easily identify the contents.

These chalkboard labels kicked my booty into gear.  Because I thought the label itself might compete with the disk directly behind it, I started by placing a piece of decorative cardstock cut down to size, inside of the acrylic case.

Then, I just pealed the backing off of the chalkboard label and popped them right onto the fronts of the cases!  SO EASY!

Since I have a chalk phobia, I decided to use a chalk pen to write on the labels.

I erased and rewrote about twenty times since I have an aversion to my own hand writing.  I gave up...

The end result totally rocked!

I love that I know which bin is which!  And that it is all removable, changeable someday if I wish!

I know not everyone has movie cases to label, so I used the power of the internet to come up with a couple of other great things to use chalkboard labels with:

Seriously, I love how much fun organizing can be!

So you know where I am going with this right?  My girl Kelly wants to hook you up big time!

Here are the details:

  134. I'm in love with the Butterfly chipboard embellishments, and the paper flower punches. And then I'd use the rest of the moolah on chalkboard labels and a chalk marker. And I would organize and label to my hearts content. :)

  135. These are AWESOME!! Before I even got the end of your blog post I had scanned her Etsy shop :) I could ABSOLUTELY use chalkboard labels for my kitchen to organize my cupboards. My aversion to doing my cupboards in the past has been that I don't want to go through all the work and then end up having to remake the labels when I repurpose the jar for a different ingredient. This totally solves that problem!! Just wipe and write. Total genius! I so hope I win!!

  136. absolutley love the chalckboard tags. i would love to use the credit on the tags and the maker for writing on the tags. Have so many things in the kitchen i would love to label and also in my living room.

    ReplyDelete
  137. Love those chalkboard tags, just what I've been needing. And I think that chalk pen is made for me. I love the look of chalk, but can't stand using it. Love it!

    ReplyDelete
  138. What a great idea! I can think of dozens of uses for those. Thanks for the opportunity!

    ReplyDelete
  139. I would label my glass four and sugar jars!

    ReplyDelete
  140. I would probably get the chalkboard labels in different shapes and sizes. I have so many projects in my home that need labeling and having them all in one style would really make it all more uniform. Don't even ask me about the time I made brownies and put Parmesan cheese instead of baking powder - all because there were no labels on the containers.

  141. Love those labels and love your blog! I got sucked in after seeing your entry makeover and now I'm hooked. :)

    ReplyDelete
  142. Ok, here's what I would do with $25! I would go back to her etsy store and look at every.single.thing. again and again. I would ponder, making lists. Antiqued marquee? Antiques square? I would wander my house aimlessly, planning where these fabulous labels would go, then picture the pumpkin string in my dining room window and add that to my list. Of course, stars for summertime, have to have that one, too!! I would finally decide that I couldn't decide and order a little bit of everything, and be pleased as punch. :)

    ReplyDelete
  143. i would totally buy the cupcake toppers with the $25 gify certificate! jamieandisaac1@yahoo.com

  144. I want all the chalk labels....every shape and size need to be mine! I'd go nuts on my house that's for sure....everything from kids toys, to the pantry, down to bins of clothing! Of course I'd also need the chalk pen since that's just way too cool....cupcake wrappers wouldn't hurt either ;)

  145. I would choose a variety of chalkboard tags and the marker. It's all so cute!

    ReplyDelete
  146. Oh where do I start?! I love the idea of the Chalkboard Chalk Marker because I also have a slight phobia of chalk itself! However, the chalkboard tags are absolutely DARLING and I would love to use them in my new office cube since I just got a new job! The Antiqued Squared 2" would be perfect for labeling office supplies in cute teal bins and drawers so I know where to find things! I would snag some of the 4" Antiqued tags for home use - I have many a bins that don't have labels (kitchen, living room, and our girls' room!)...LOVE the idea!!
