43 Freebie Friday! Weekly Routine Printable

Happy Friday bloggy friends!

It's freebie time!

I just realized that it is already November and I have had two plus months to get my booty in routine gear since the kiddos started school.  To be honest, managing my schedule hasn't been the easiest to get a handle on.  I try working at night when everyone is sleeping.  But then when do I sleep?  I have 56 daily tasks to manage, over-achiever wanna be me tries to do them all in one day, so what days should I do what?  I want to play with Parker when he is home on Fridays, does that mean I have to work way more on Monday through Thursday?  And when am I supposed to do our weekly grocery shopping?  Or run on the treadmill?  Or practice spelling with Peyton?

Sure, I use my daily planner to manage appointments and reminders, but I needed something that was going to help me manage my time on a weekly basis.  An outline, so I could be sure to schedule out my tasks and ensure I was accomplishing all I wanted to each week.  Something to help me get the beauty zzzz's that I need and to track the consistent weekly demands that life, being a mom and work are bringing.

So I made myself a printable!

And it's a Friday!  And iheart Freebie Friday so if you would like, you can have one to help you as well!

I am planning on filling mine out to outline my "ideal" week and to include all of my day to day tasks spread out throughout the course of the week.  Then, I am just going to use it as my planner bookmark so that I can be sure to always have a reminder of what I should be doing and when.  The goal is to keep me on track and hopefully get me feeling a little less stressed about all of my "to do" tasks.

So enjoy!  I am off to start filling in the blanks and to take back control of my schedule!

What's your all time favorite "time management" tip?

  4. Yup! So easy to let all the stuff we have to do as moms, house managers, small business owners take over everything to where we feel like it is out of control. Taking back our schedules and us controlling our schedule and our time is the first and hardest step! Thank you for the printable, off to print and start filling in!

  5. I've started setting a timer. Unless it's life threatening, if it's not finished by the time the timer goes off, it has to wait. I don't have kids yet, but I do have a husband that works six days a week, two dogs, a guinea pig and two jobs of my own. Time is precious.

  11. Thanks for the freebie. It is amazing how tricky it can be to get things done. Life sure has changed a lot since my oldest was born 23 years ago!!! Then starting over again twice (my other two are 13 and 4). Things are so different now.

I've been dying for something like this for exam study and preparation!!
Although I only have a few days left til exams are over I think I'll use this to get all content covered, and definitely have to re-print this for next year's study!!!

  18. Thank you so very much for this! I usually make my own time sheet for a day I know is going to be insane, but this will be great to preview my week. I love the idea of using it as your bookmark--I will absolutely be doing that!

  19. thanks Jen! I love it! I have done similar to this before (though not as pretty) but here's my problem... figuring out a schedule that works! whenever I try something always seems to come up or take longer or whatever and it just doesn't work, then I get frustrated and give up on making schedules. any advice about that??

  20. Oh my goodness, THANK YOU! I keep trying to make myself something like this on Excel, but it isn't pretty enough to make me happy. This is exactly what I've been hunting for!

  22. This is beautiful! Your colors exude the happiness we want all of our days to be full of! Cause some days feel like browns & dull grays haha.

Just wondering: do you ever feel like maybe you spend too much TIME trying to be organized with everything you do?

  23. @Amanda - It's my job now and I love it so I don't think so. Each project makes our life that much easier and maybe helps a reader out too. Some people like to scrapbook or bake cookies, I like to organize and problem solve! :)

    Jen

  25. Yay! Love this! Would you mind sharing what yours ending up looking like once you've filled most of it in? Always curious to get a glimpse at how other stay at home mom's manage the day to day stuff (grocery shopping, cooking, cleaning, etc. etc on top of time with the kiddos)! Thanks Jen!

  26. LOVE this Jen!! I've made so many things similar to this, but like so many other people have commented - they haven't been as cute! Can't wait to fill this in! Writing my to-do's is seriously what I do for fun on a Friday night! Is that sad? HA! :)

I've found the most helpful thing for me to do to manage my time is to break projects into small pieces and be specific about what I'm doing each day. If I'm scrapbooking I'll come up with something like:

Day 1 - choose pics I want to develop
Day 2 - get them developed
    Day 3 - organize pics/page layout
Day 4 - Put page together

If I just write "scrapbook Halloween pictures" on my to-do list I'm overwhelmed before I start! Plus with three little ones I never have time to complete a project in a day. Breaking things up and spreading the work out helps me to get things done even if I only have 15 minutes. It also helps me to know exactly what I need to be doing each day to move forward. :)

Have a great weekend with those adorable boys of yours!

  28. Thank you! I've been a SAHM mom for over four years and felt fine with my schedule. However, I recently started working 30 hours a week from home - plus my three kids! I've been struggling to fit everything in and not feel like I'm neglecting my kids by working all day or my husband by working all evening. I'm hoping this will help me be a beter steward of my time :)

  29. Perfect! I have been meaning to make myself a version of this now for weeks....err...months! But, like you, I have to much stuff going on and it took a back seat. I need to clearly define my "work" time as I am a stay (work) at home mom to a 2 year old with a graphic design job and I find that I get overwhelmed with her underfoot and keeping care of the house and a week goes by and I wonder if I got any work done at all!

  30. skippedy do da thankyou! I just did myself a cruddy one up and yours is much much better. Plus I won't spend so much time trying to get mine to 'look right' ;) - always the procrastinator!

    Thankyou :)

  32. Hey Jen!

Thank you so much for one more wonderful free printable! I love everything you do! I'm putting together my household binder as we speak, but there are some things that are specific to my family and job that I will have to create myself. What software do you use to create your printables? Thanks again!Have a great week!

  33. It's like you read my mind! I've been thinking about making a weekly routine chart for quite some time but I'm glad I didn't because it wouldn't have been nearly as adorable as yours! Thank you sooo much!!!

  34. Thank you so much Jen, this is great! I've started using it to keep track of my time around work. Working from home means time can become a bit mixed up, so having something to keep me on track is a HUGE help!

  35. Thank you so much! This is great!

  36. Jen, could you share with us what program you use to make your wonderful printables? How did you learn how to make them?

    ReplyDelete
  37. @Leanne -

I use Microsoft Excel. And I have been playing with the program for years so it's just been a lot of learning on my own and trial and error {and using the help functionality}.

I worked on Excel a lot at my previous employer, so that helped tremendously. I was known as the "spreadsheet queen" there, lol.

    xoxo,
    Jen

  38. Hi Jen! Your blog is so amazing, and I am your newest "official" follower, though I've been lurking for a long time :) I've been using your weekly routine printable for quite some time and love it, and included it in my blog post yesterday about creating a household binder: http://aprons-n-pearls.blogspot.com/2013/01/household-binder-part-1.html

Thanks for sharing! You are such an inspiration :)
