28 June Featured Space: Laundry Room - Rack it Up!

There are times when things bear repeating.  Like when your little one takes their first steps... or when you get that huge promotion... or when you tackle an amazing home reno project.  Yes, there are things that really get us going and have us chatting over and over to anyone who will listen to us.  This is one of those times.  I am so crazy in love with an organizational item, that I had to use it twice in my home, and now share it twice on the blog.  And if I could find more places to use it, which I most likely will, then I will share with you again.  And again....

You may recall a certain fantastic part of my home office makeover...

You all know exactly what I am talking about... those little white cups are truly amazing right?!  In fact, I know you all think so because I got oodles of emails asking me all about the little beauties!

They actually came from Ikea, surprise surprise I know!  And I am in awe that I don't see more of these around the blogosphere {unless it's just because it's such an obviously awesome solution that's already been over shared and I missed the memo?}... it's such a simple combination!

Yep, just take one Bygel Rail plus a couple Bygel Hooks plus a couple Asker Cups, and boom, instant storage and organization that is uber adorable to boot!!

They are wonderful in the laundry room, for holding a sponge used for quick cleanups:

And gloves also used for cleaning:

And although I find these containers to be perfect in both my office and laundry room spaces, I could see them working just about anywhere, for anything, from holding utensils in the kitchen to corralling beauty supplies in a bathroom, the too cute options are really endless!!

Now I would love to hear what things you have repeated throughout your casa, because they are just so fantastic.  Anyone have any news that bares repeating over and over?  Please, don't contain yourselves!

  12. Hi Jen, Love your ideas! On your blog photos, I saw some laundry canvas totes with monogrammed labels for "whites" etc. on them. Where did you purchase those? Thanks for your awesome organizing ideas.

    1. Hi there!

Here is the post on the labeled bins. They were partially DIY'd: http://iheartorganizing.blogspot.com/2012/02/laundry-land-labels-and-some-tips-too.html

  13. I need...in a bad way, this above my kitchen sink. You think your kitchen is small??? You haven't seen mine! It's about a 1/4 of the size of yours & I'm having a really hard time getting mine to where "I heart" it, as you say. I'm an avid baker & love to cook so I have all the kitchen gadgets & appliances with nowhere to store them. I would say my kitchen is about the size of most average people's bathrooms, maybe smaller! Wish you made house calls because I'm having serious issues coming up with a 'plan' for my kitchen! I am going to try to organize my fridge & freezer though because I only buy groceries once a month & stockpile a lot of things & your tips will really help me. Keep up the awesomeness! ~Joni~

    1. Hello, Can you send me some ideas for organizing a very small kitchen. Fortunately I will have a blank slate at our new house; unfortunately it will only by approximately 9*8; must fit a small rectangular dining table with 4 chairs, a window, and three doors. One door would be on the top right hand corner, while two down on the bottom right side corner, almost together (one is a bedroom door and one is a hallway. Any ideas for organizing a kitchen from scratch would be helpful. I need all of the ideas I can get and really want to do it right the first time. The rest of the house is pretty much as small so no way that I can spill out into another room for dining.

  14. I have been searching everywhere for those asker cups. They would be perfect in my room with air plants in them. Not at Ikea online, nothing on ebay, nothing even close anywhere. If you have any suggestions, please let me know.

    1. Hi Mimi,

It is my understanding that IKEA has since cancelled the ASKER products. :(

Unfortunately I purchased them many years ago now. Maybe check eBay?

    1. Unfortunately, IKEA has since discontinued these particular cups, and I haven't found a good replacement. However, they offer a variety of rail/cup combinations in their kitchen storage department, which should still offer the same functionality.
