6 Reader Space: Amanda's Artfully Organized Bookshelf

You all amaze me on a daily basis.  From your inspiring comments, inspiring blogs and inspiring reader space submissions.  So you can imagine the joy gleaming from my face when another amazing reader sent me another completely inspiring organization project!

Hello Jen,

I recently found your blog through YHL and I LOVE all of your ideas!  I love that you are such a DIYer, just like my husband and I.  I just wanted to share my recently created blog, ourhumbleabowed.wordpress.com with you.   I am very OCD about things having a place.  So much so that I have a label maker and used it to identify where bedding and towels should go in our linen closet.  My husband thinks I'm a little crazy for it, but he admits it's nice to have things organized.  He is the total opposite from me in that regard.

Anyway, Here's an organizing project I recently finished: http://ourhumbleabowed.wordpress.com/2010/05/26/how-to-artfully-arrange-a-bookshelf/  I am slowly organizing my office.  I just have to wait until Ben builds my drawers.  I hope to send you some major organizing (with plenty of labels) soon!

Thanks and best wishes!!
Amanda
Our Humble A{Bowe}d

Prepare for your jaw to be permanently dropped to the ground.  I mean really, not only is this project an organized dream, the rest of her humble "a{Bowe}d" is equally amazing and really inspires me to get moving on some major home projects I have up my sleeve!  THANK YOU Amanda for sharing your goods!

I won't keep you waiting any longer, here is Amanda's uber organized bookshelf:

The list of things IHeart personally about this project, could go on and on, from the color coded books, to the awesome decorative framed art {I mean really, that butterfly art had me at Hello!} to ALL of those storage boxes!  Plus, adding monogrammed accessories is by far one of my favorite ways to personalize any space.  Amanda pulled together this project perfectly with her mixing and matching of books, storage and accessories within her lovely built-in bookcase.

And wanna take a glimpse at a before and after side by side?  I am warning you now, you may not be able to pry your jaw from the ground....

To get all the details on how she pulled it all together so perfectly, check out her blog here, where she spills her tips and tricks!  Also check out the rest of her blog too, I can guarantee you will find some inspiration within!

So what is your favorite part?  There are so many great things to choose from right?  Anyone take on a recent bookshelf organizing project of their own, or going to get at it this weekend thanks to the fabulous inspiration found above?  I would love to know!

P.S.  Have an awesome story to share?  How about some organizing tips and tricks?  Maybe a project completed from an inspiration found?  Please send your story and photos to iheartorganizing@gmail.com and I would heart to feature them right here, on the blog!!

  1. Oh, beautiful! Wow. She did a great job - I love the framed prints to add that perfect POP to the space. And those built-ins! It's making me wonder if there's anyspace in our house to add one a floor-to-ceiling built-in... hmmm. :)

    Thanks for sharing!

  4. The butterfly art is really pretty. I like the white boxes too - do you know where they came from?

  5. Those are paper boxes from Ikea: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/90115488

I just bought 4 of them to re-organize my gift-wrapping closet! Heart them! :)
